Scripture: “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12 NIV

A Call To: Draw Near
Have you ever been in a place in your life where you have thought, “I never thought I would ever be here.” Maybe your health declined. Maybe a tragedy happened and you felt alone. Maybe God moved you to the other side of the country or world, away from all that was familiar. You felt alone and by yourself.

Jeremiah reassures you that you’re never alone. God is with you. He has a plan for you even in the unfamiliar.  He’s with you to give you peace, a future, and a hope. He wants you to call on Him and pray. Tell Him all that is on your mind. Every hurt. Every fear. Every disappointment. He wants to hear it all. He’s the ultimate listener. He actually yearns to listen to all that’s on your mind.

In this moment, right where you are, lay it all out to Him. He’s listening.

Reflection:

When was a time you felt alone? How did you handle the situation? Did you call on God?

Praise + Prayer:
Lord, You know this isn’t what I had planned for my life. I never saw this coming. I’m thankful You’re here with me, though. You’re my friend and I can talk to You anytime of day or night. You’re always  listening and answering my prayers. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen

There are times when I look back I cannot hardly believe where God has lead me. I think about how I have been guided and the changes God has done in my life. Some based on changes I did not want and some based on changes I did want. God has been good and has given me a heart that seeks Him and I know that is with me through it all. Many times what I get is much better than I imagined & through it all He grows me & shows me how Mighty He is as well as gives me a blessing I did not see. Thank you Lord for showing me your greatness & power. Thank you for the unknown blessings & new found desires.

  • I am 66 rears old. Approaching my sixties I thought I was in pretty good health. I looked around and saw others appearing to be much more at risk health wise than I ever thought I was. . Regardless of what I thought though, I have encountered a few blips to remind me I am not in control. I am grateful I have. God to depend on. I am also grateful God has numbered the hairs on my head and that whenever my last day on earth is, I have eternity with the Savior to look forward to.
